SPACE ...EFFECTS, WEIGHTLESSNESS EXPERIMENTS

The forces of gravity, weight, free fall, etc, are normally studied in physics classes.

Weightlessness is analysed by observing the video-clips of astronauts floating inside the International Space Station ISS or the space shuttle.

Sometimes the absence of weight and the absence of gravity are mistaken. It is commonly believed that gravity is absent in space where the ISS is orbiting.

The equipment here presented has been designed in order to recreate an “environment” where it’s possible to perform experiments similar to those conducted in the ISS, but in a shorter time. This is also an opportunity to explain difficult concepts in a practical and easy way.

These experiments are part of the workshop activities performed at the Science Gym of the Municipality of Faenza.
